Conference on nutrition and health held

An worldwide convention on vitamin and well being was held at Fatima College close to right here on Tuesday.

The convention was organised by the Research Centre of Home Science, Postgraduate Department of Zoology of Fatima College in collaboration with Nutrition Society of India. It handled the subject ‘Precision Nutrition and Health: Foresight way forward for Disease Prediction and Prevention,’ said a press launch.

The thematic handle was delivered by S. Vimal Karani, Professor in Nutrigenetic & Nutrigenomics and Deputy Director of the Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health on the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

He highlighted the function of a person’s genetic make-up on the metabolic response and dietary standing and the way vitamin influences the genome and metabolism.

Anto Cordelia Tanislaus Antony Dhanapal, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Science within the Centre for Biomedical and Nutrition Research on the University Tunku Abdul Rahman in Malaysia, elaborated on precision vitamin as an integration of assorted components to know metabolism and human wellbeing.

V. Kumaravel, director and endocrinologist at Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology and Alpha Hospital & Research Centre in Madurai, delivered the valedictory handle.

Over 100 college students, analysis students and professors from varied universities and establishments throughout India and overseas attended the convention.
