The Columbia County School District will host a job honest for bus drivers, diet assistants and custodians Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grovetown Middle School situated at 5463 Harlem Grovetown Road.

Staff members from the Departments of Human Resources;  Transportation; Facilities, Maintenance and Operations; and School Nutrition will present candidates an outline of the job description and reply questions.

All certified candidates will obtain an on-site interview. Minimum necessities to be a bus driver with the Columbia County School District embrace:

● Must be 21 years of age

● Must cross the varsity bus drivers annual bodily examination to incorporate, drug and alcohol screenings

● Must have a secure driving file

● Must have a constructive perspective and a ardour for offering a clear and secure mode of transportation for college kids

At Tuesday evening’s Board of Education assembly, superintendent Dr. Steven Flynt stated the district is in want of 40 bus drivers, 25 of that are reserve bus drivers.

A Commercial Driver’s License is required to drive a faculty bus. The faculty district presents paid, in-house coaching for certified candidates to earn their CDL upon employment.
