How to get your kids excited about cooking and nutrition with Sarah Di Lorenzo

Clinical nutritionist Sarah Di Lorenzo joined us with some tasty recipes to get even the fussiest eater having fun with wholesome meals.

Healthy blueberry and banana oat pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 very ripe bananas

Method

  1. Mash the bananas with a fork properly. Whisk the eggs after which mix the bananas with egg, add the oats, combine properly after which the blueberries.
  2. Cook in a non-stick fry pan round 3 to 4 minutes both sides till golden brown.
  3. Enjoy with freshly chopped banana, berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Purple smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 frozen very ripe banana
  • 1 cup of spinach or kale
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 4 cubes of ice
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (non-obligatory)
