Nutrition garden on child health opened at Chengalpattu medical college

A backyard to create consciousness on the significance of vitamin throughout the 1,000 days from being pregnant until a baby attained the age of two was inaugurated on the Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital right here on Friday by Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramanian.

The backyard, which is known as the “1,000 days of life vitamin backyard”, was developed below the company social duty initiative of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The Minister laid the muse stone for a ready corridor for guests close to the backyard with funding from Nissan Motors India Pvt. Ltd. and Hand in Hand.

Built within the form of a womb, the backyard was designed by World Health Organisation’s Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan. He stated the backyard, which is designed to create consciousness on wholesome consuming and nutritive worth of various vegetation and greens, can be helpful to pregnant girls and moms with infants visiting the hospital.

Citing the current report of Sample Registration System, the Minister stated the toddler mortality fee in Tamil Nadu had come down from 15 to 13. He stated the federal government would try to carry this quantity to zero in 5 years from now.
