Low-income seniors invited to apply for county’s farmers market nutrition program

Eligible low-income seniors are invited to use for Snohomish County’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

The program is geared toward rising the neighborhood’s consumption of vegetables and fruit; increasing using native farmers markets, farm shops and community-supported agriculture packages; and rising gross sales of Washington- grown fruits, greens and herbs.

An inventory of collaborating farmers markets and farm shops shall be posted when obtainable on the county’s web site, and shall be included with the vouchers.

Eligible low-income seniors obtain $40 price of vouchers to buy contemporary vegetables and fruit at licensed farmers markets or farm stands.

The software interval ends July 15, 2022.

Eligible seniors embrace these ages 60-plus for non-Native Americans and ages 55-plus for Native Americans, with a month-to-month revenue of as much as $2,096 per 30 days for one individual and as much as $2,823 per 30 days for 2 individuals. For bigger households, add $728 per individual. Funds are restricted so a random choice course of could also be used to pick out recipients.
