Soon your automobile’s health certificates could also be examined by way of an automated machine. Ministry of Road Transport & Highways issued a draft notification on Wednesday searching for public feedback relating to necessary health of automobiles solely via an Automated Testing Station.
For the renewal of the health certificates, the draft notification proposes a niche of two years for automobiles as much as eight years previous, and one yr for automobiles older than eight years.
The draft units a separate timeline for necessary testing of the HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles) and LMVs (Light Motor Vehicles). For heavy automobiles, the necessary testing via an automatic testing station will begin from 01st April 2023.
For Medium Goods Vehicles and LMVs, obligatory testing is being proposed to start out from 01st June 2024.
“Fitness shall be accomplished mandatorily, solely via an Automated Testing Station registered in accordance with the rule 175 for recognition, regulation, and management of the automated testing station,” the notification states.

According to Transport Ministry knowledge, India has 51 lakh Light Motor Vehicles which are greater than 20 years previous and 34 lakh over 15 years previous. Around 17 lakh Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles are older than 15 years with out legitimate health certificates.
