
A lady has sparked a debate on Twitter after saying that complimenting somebody on their weight loss is “inherently fatphobic.”
Sarah Kelly, who goes by @thesarahkelly on Twitter, took to the platform to share her ideas about complimenting folks on their weight reduction.
“Complimenting folks on their weight reduction is inherently fatphobic. There isn’t any solution to do it that doesn’t indicate that their physique was much less worthy when it was larger/softer. Find one thing else to go with,” Kelly tweeted.
In a subsequent tweet, she added some options resembling “You have a lot vitality, it’s nice,” and “you’re glowing.”
People within the feedback had combined opinions about Kelly’s posts. Some stated that it was a pleasant manner to ensure chubby folks aren’t upset, however many others took situation together with her stance.
One stated stated: “As somebody who has misplaced 50lbs since August, f*** all of that. Tell me how a lot better I look. I misplaced that weight as a result of I wished to look higher.”
