On Tuesday, June 1, the Alabama State Child Nutrition Service kicked off its “Summer Food Service” program at Wetumpka Middle School. It’s known as “Break for a Plate Alabama”. The Elmore County School System youngster diet program has partnered with the USDA’s program “Eat Well, Live Well and Be Well”.
It is the primary kickoff occasion of the summer time program.
The program is to tell Alabamians that there are areas across the state that yow will discover a meal at no cost for any youngster 18 and underneath.

The program has been in existence since 1968. Participants in this system are the Alabama Department of Education and the Department of Alabama Agriculture and Industries.
