Steve Clarke will belief his personal judgement on Ryan Fraser’s Euro 2020 prospects regardless of the issues of Newcastle boss Steve Bruce.
he Magpies winger has not kicked a ball in anger since a Scotland World Cup qualifying double-header in March due to a groin damage.
Asked about Fraser’s health on Tuesday, United head coach Bruce mentioned: “Whether he’s going to be picked within the Scotland squad, I might suppose that may be of venture too since he’s missed the final six, seven weeks taking part in no actual soccer or coaching.”
Fraser, who scored within the 1-1 draw with Israel and the 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands, was named in Clarke’s 26-man squad for the delayed European Championship and the Scotland boss mentioned: “Ryan is ok. He is progressing nicely.
“He did nicely for me within the final camp, the March camp was good.
“He is happy to be a part of the squad and is trying ahead to the event.
“So I do know what Steve is saying.
“But if it’s a gamble and Steve thinks it’s of venture, then it’s of venture I’m prepared to take.”
